Education and experience

Haiming Fan, professor of college of chemistry and materials science in Northwest university, PhD supervisor. Mr. Fan graduated from the institute of physics, Chinese academy of sciences in 2004. From 2004 to 2013, he was successively engaged in the research work of functional nanomaterials and their biomedical applications in the national university of Singapore, nanyang technological university of Singapore and national university of Ireland. During this period pf time, he also served as a visiting professor in the school of materials, university of new south wales, Australia. He joined Northwest university, China, in 2013 as a full professor, outstanding youth of Shaanxi Province, and leading talents of xi 'an high-tech zone. Currently he serves as the youth member of nanomedicine and engineering branch of Chinese society of biomedical engineering, member of the working group on low dimensional nano-structure and performance of national technical committee on nanotechnology of standardization administration of China, and young member of nano-tumor professional committee, Chinese anti-cancer association, etc.

Research field and main achievements

The current research interest of Fan’s group is mainly focused on magnetic nanomaterials and nanomedicine. He has hosted over 4 projects from National Natural Science Foundation of China and 5 provincial projects. Their research has led to the publication of over 90 SCI papers in journals including J. Am. Chem. Soc., Adv. Mater, ACS Nano, Nano Lett, etc, and 4 Chinese invention patents. Mr. Fan currently has an H-index of 26.
